Bio

I am a highly experienced investment professional with extensive knowledge of wealth management. I am recognized for my strategic capabilities, big picture thinking, client interaction, investment insight, technical expertise, and the ability to articulate complex financial concepts at the appropriate level.

Prior to founding Adaptive Financial Solutions, Inc., I was an independent consultant in the investment management industry.  I have also been a Senior Portfolio Manager at the Zevin Asset Management, a Managing Director of Investment Research at Ballentine Partners, a Research Manager at PanAgora Asset Management, a Vice President at Independence Investment Associates, Inc., and a Quantitative Investment Analyst at GMO, LLC.  Prior to entering the financial services industry, I was an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at East Carolina University after being a Visiting Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Duke University.

I earned an MBA with a concentration in Financial Engineering from the Sloan School at MIT. Before that, I earned a Ph.D. in Mathematics from UNC at Chapel Hill and a Bachelor's degree with a double major in Math and Philosophy from Kenyon College.

I have been interviewed on CNBC, Bloomberg TV, Reuters TV, Fox Business News, Business News Network (Canada), and SBC TV (Greece). I have been quoted in the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, Forbes, Bloomberg, Reuters, ABC News, The Chicago Tribune, Agence France Presse (AFP), Die Welt (Germany), Yomiuri Shimbun (Japan).

I have been an invited speaker at many conferences such as the SRI Conference, NAFPA's spring meeting, Bob Vere's Insider Forum, The Boston Security Analysts Society’s Asset Allocation conference, the Wealth Management & Family Offices Forum in Athens, Greece, and the FOX Wealth Advisor Forum in Chicago.

On a personal level I enjoy spending time with my wife and our three adult children, traveling, cooking, and debating art, music, politics and science. Depending on the season and available time, I enjoy playing ice hockey, figure skating, studying yoga, wakeboarding and taking kiteboarding lessons.
