I've always been interested in listening to people’s stories, in organizing things, and in analyzing data – and synthesizing all these connecting ideas into strategies to improve people’s lives.
Originally from Los Angeles, I earned an AB from Harvard-Radcliffe College (magna cum laude) in history, and an MBA from Stanford University. I still love reading history (especially autobiographical memoirs), and organizing reunions to build connections between former classmates. I live in the Brighton area of Boston, where my husband Dan and I are slowly renovating an 85+ year old house that backs onto an old ice pond. I also volunteer with BSA Troop & Crew 56 in Cambridge, which has been proudly multi-racial, LGTBQ+ friendly and co-ed for many years.
In a previous life I spent 10 years marketing food products (Jell-O gelatin, Pebbles cereal, Contadina tomato products, and Del Monte canned fruit) before starting a marketing and business consulting business and raising my two sons. After working with family members organizing and managing their financial affairs, I earned my Certificate in Financial Planning from Boston University, became a Registered Investment Advisor, a CFP®, and an Enrolled Agent. I am also a NAPFA Registered Financial Advisor.
I live within 3 miles of Harvard, MIT, BC, BU, and other universities, as well as several teaching and research hospitals, and several of my clients have come from these employers or the start-ups around them. These clients are generally thoughtful, organized, and interested in life planning topics as well benefiting from more extensive tax planning and investment management. Frequently they have self-employment income, and/or multiple employers. I focus on women and couples, age 45-70, including people of color.
