John Konetzny is a Certified Financial Planner™ and an advisor at The Practical Planner. He received his degree in Economics from the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
Prior to joining The Practical Planner, John spent six years at Fidelity Investments working with high net worth individuals and families constructing comprehensive financial, investment and retirement plans. During John’s tenure at Fidelity, in addition to becoming a CFP®, he attained his Series 7, Series 63, Series 66, and his Life, Health and Variable Annuity Insurance License. John is a member of the Alliance of Comprehensive Planners and the Financial Planning Association.
While John was working towards earning his CFP® marks, he realized how much more he could help clients when product sales were off the table. John discovered how much he valued transparency in financial planning, a value he believes you can truly only have as a Fee-Only financial planner. This prompted his decision to leave his job at Fidelity to join The Practical Planner in 2016.
John resides in the quintessential New England town of Groton, Massachusetts with his wife Elizabeth. He serves as a member of the Economic Development Committee in Groton and as an Eagle Scout, continues to stay active with the Boy Scouts in Groton, teaching the Personal Management Merit Badge. In his spare time, John enjoys cycling and running through the picturesque country roads in the area, visiting new cities throughout the U.S. and spending time with his nieces and nephews.
