Facilitator Bio:

Rob Reed earned a doctorate in cultural anthropology in 1989. He was a professor at the Ohio State University for ten years where he taught graduate and undergraduate courses. He is a Vietnam veteran.

His interest in personal financial planning developed as he managed his own family’s finances and especially as he confronted the complexities of OSU’s retirement plan and Ohio’s State Teachers Retirement System.

In 2000 He founded Reed Financial Planning out of a desire to help regular people organize their financial lives. His firm is dedicated to providing comprehensive financial advice to middle-income Americans. His background gives him personal experience in dealing with issues confronting educators and state employees. He also has a personal interest in working with creative professionals. He has published a finance book for artists; Your Art is Your Business: a guide for the working artist.

Rob is a Certified Financial Planner™ certificant and belongs to NAPFA. Rob is a Registered Investment Advisor in the State of Ohio and a member of NATP. In 2001 Rob helped found the Alliance of Cambridge Advisors, a national association of fee-only financial advisors dedicated to serving middle-income Americans.
