Alliance of Comprehensive Planners Member Sahil Vakil Recognized in InvestmentNews’ 40 Under 40

First Generation Immigrant on a Mission to Increase Financial Literacy, Financial Equity and Financial Opportunity for the Underserved and Underrepresented Immigrant Population in the United States

Sahil.jpgWILMINGTON, NC – July 9, 2019 – The Alliance of Comprehensive Planners (ACP), a group of tax-focused financial planners that adhere to the Fiduciary Standard, announced that one of its members, Sahil Vakil, has been selected as a 2019 InvestmentNews 40 Under 40 recipient. The InvestmentNews 40 Under 40 project highlights young talent in the financial advice industry. Vakil is founder and CEO of MYRA Wealth™, a firm that provides personal finance services to immigrants in the United States,

In this 6th year of the 40 Under 40 list, the editorial staff of InvestmentNews selected Vakil as one of 40 talented individuals, after evaluating about 1,000 nominations submitted online. The individuals illustrate the tremendous potential of those coming up in the profession. Vakil is a first-generation immigrant who has made it his mission to make a meaningful impact in the lives of international and multicultural individuals in the United States.

“America is a nation of immigrants. Our American journey and our success would simply not be possible without the generations of immigrants who have come to our shores before us from every corner of the globe. These families are not only an integral part of American culture and society, but also important contributors to the US economy. For several generations immigrants have helped build our nation and its economy. Now it’s our turn to help them,” said Vakil.

“MYRA Wealth is home to the vibrant and thriving international and multicultural community in the United States. ‘Aliens’, as the IRS code lovingly calls them, are the heartbeat of America, and MYRA Wealth seeks to make a meaningful impact in their lives. And we don't just mean financial impact. We look at other factors as well, like the improved standard of living, realized for our clients through better financial planning and investment management. Or, a sense of security and belonging via robust estate planning and immigration advisory. Or, the peace of mind and feeling of calm, knowing that MYRA Wealth's got our clients’ backs during the dreaded tax preparation and filing season,” added Vakil, who is a member of ACP, the community of tax-focused financial planners operating under a retainer model.

“The men and women chosen as this year’s 40 Under 40 honorees were selected based on their level of accomplishment, contribution to the financial advice industry and leadership,” said Frederick P. Gabriel Jr., editorial director of InvestmentNews. “They serve as role models for other young professionals and suggest the financial advice industry has a bright future.” By rewarding these honorees, InvestmentNews hopes to reveal the promising future for the industry.

“After getting to know Sahil through the ACP and the coaching my marketing team and I have been doing with ACP members for the past year, I felt strongly that Sahil embodied all of the characteristics InvestmentNews was seeking for their 40 Under 40 list,” said Marie Swift, president and CEO of Impact Communications. “I am happy to see that the judging committee took note of the nomination I submitted about Sahil, his mission and his accomplishments.”

Vakil was highlighted with the other honorees in the June 17th issue of InvestmentNews and online at investmentnews.com.
