ACP Welcomes Newest Board Members

Join us in welcoming Chris Wentzien and Frankie Corrado as the newest members of the ACP Board of Directors. Chris and Frankie will serve three-year terms beginning January 2018 and running through December 2020. I am confident that ACP will benefit greatly from their insight, vision, and leadership.

ACP Campaign Statement

Why do I want to be an ACP Board Member?

  • Giving Back. I would not have a practice without ACP. The friendships, ACP training, and tools have allowed me to build a successful practice, and have been with me every step from the start-up phase to where I am today.
  • We are the best! I strongly believe in the mission of ACP. We have been trailblazers in the industry. From comprehensive financial planning to the annual retainer model to the fiduciary standard, the ACP model allows us the flexibility to serve all markets. We need to continue to be years ahead of the profession and attract the top advisors in the industry.

Clients desperately need our help for financial independence. From start-up to ensemble, we must continue to differentiate, improve our practices, and most importantly, take care of our clients.

  • We can be even better. The financial services industry is significantly underserved in the areas of female advisors, advisors of different ethnicity, and younger advisors. The industry must become more inclusive to be recognized as a true profession. ACP can and should be at the forefront in this area.

I have been an ACP member since 2008. I am currently on the ACP System Committee and the Student Membership Committee, and mentor new ACP advisors and student members.

Biographical Information

I live in the beautiful coastal town of Santa Cruz, CA, with my wife and our German Shepherd. We have two adult children, one grandson, and one granddaughter on the way.

I recently “semi-retired” from the non-profit sector, where I helped found a year-round soccer club targeting underserved kids. The organization continues today in its tenth year with 150 children from underserved (primarily farm-working) families.

Along with my practice, I’m an instructor for the CFP® certificate program at the University of California, Santa Cruz.

In my working career, I was fortunate to be a professional soccer player before getting an education and working in corporate finance. This career wasn’t for me. I was attracted to financial planning and helping people. The financial services industry, however, was a major turn off.

It wasn’t until I read Bert’s book, when the light went on and I discovered ACP and my passion!

Campaign Statement

The Alliance of Comprehensive Planners is ahead of its time. We do not require a law to put client interests ahead of our own - it’s just in our nature. We understand the unique value that comes with fulfilling life and financial goals via smart, sensible, comprehensive planning.

I seek to serve on the ACP Board of Directors to effectuate and spread the organization’s core vision: to be America's leading community of independent financial planners committed to success through our ethics and innovation.

I would direct my energy and passion toward the continued growth and development of the organization through the continued empowerment of the membership.

In addition, I would also seek to:

  • Listen and understand the ongoing needs of our members.
  • Establish and evolve ACP’s brand awareness to both consumers and advisors.
  • Grow the network of ACP membership through traditional and non-traditional means.
  • Improve traffic to the ACP public website and advisor search features.
  • Expand the capabilities of ACPConnect where possible for effectiveness and user experience.
  • Explore technology opportunities beneficial to our membership.
  • Support the annual conference to continue its best in class experience.

I am a huge believer in our organization and what we can achieve, especially when we focus our collective energy in a dedicated direction. It would be an honor to serve the organization as it continues its evolution.
